Backyard Garden....

So. Earlier this Spring...I built a garden wall...a small retaining wall. Yes...I added a nifty drain as well for the poorly designed drain spouts.. So..here are a couple of the initial pictures when the wall was completed and all the plants basically put in.. May 13, 2007
Yes, that's Lady up there on the wall........she likes to go on the prowl outside and soak up the sun...and rodents.

General view of backyard garden...veggies....flowers...my version of a French Potager...

it's set up in four rectangles, only they are set side by side instead of in the traditional square pattern. Stepping stones in between to walk on....a rose in the center of each...and different herbs, veggies, flowers in each one...with four boxwoods on each corner.

I tried to keep taller items to the left, as they are the farthest view from the sunroom...where I have my morning cafe..

Above are some basic pictures of my house back in March '07. I bought this little house back in July of last year. It had basically no landscaping. I added everything in front in the fall.....
I have an older picture somewhere that I may post later when I find it. These are right after I painted the doors blue. I was going for FRENCH BLUE....I call them SMURF BLUE.
Well....it's easier not to miss the house now..

In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful. ~Abram L. Urban
