Elizabeth Klaviter, Director of Medical Research
Given Klaviter's daily duties, it's hard to believe her background is in theater, not medicine. Serving as director of medical research on Grey's Anatomy and new spin-off Private Practice, she spends much of her time leafing through medical journals and talking to experts about hundreds of ailments that could find their way into the shows' storylines. In Klaviter's tenure, that's included everything from a seemingly pregnant man to a woman killed by hiccups. Her rule of thumb: If the situation hasn't actually happened, it could happen.
